How to use this tool

Splitting and extracting are the same operation
"Split a PDF in half" and "extract pages 1 to 20" describe one
action: build a new document from a chosen subset of pages. To
divide a file into two parts, run the tool twice — once for
1-20, once for 21-40. The original file on
your device is never modified, so there is nothing to undo.
Why people usually need this
Most often it is because something has to be sent to someone who should not see the rest: one payslip out of a twelve-month statement, the signature page of a contract, three pages of an application out of thirty. That is also exactly the situation where uploading the whole document to a website to cut it down is the wrong move — which is why this one does the work in your browser.
What is preserved
The extracted pages keep their original content, resolution and page size. Text remains selectable. Bookmarks and form fields do not carry over, and any digital signature on the original will not apply to the new file.

How do I split a PDF into two separate files?
Run the tool twice on the same document. Extract the first range, download it, then extract the second range. The original is never altered, so you can repeat as often as you like.
What does leaving the page box blank do?
It keeps every page, which produces a copy of the original. Useful if you only want to strip the file down to its pages without other changes.
Can I extract pages in a different order?
No. Pages come out in their original order regardless of how you type the range. Extract them separately and merge in the order you want if you need to rearrange.
Is there a limit on the PDF size?
No server limit, only your device's memory. Very large scanned documents, in the hundreds of megabytes, can be slow on a phone.
Does the extracted file keep the original quality?
Yes. Pages are copied as they are, not re-rendered, so nothing is recompressed and text stays selectable.
